What to Pack for a Napa Valley Getaway

July 02, 2020
Category: Napa Getaway

Napa Valley is one of the most enjoyable places to visit in California. In one quaint community, you can enjoy wine tastings, vineyard visits, outdoor activities, nights on the town and locally sourced grub. Plus, the weather is sunny and warm most of the year, allowing you to plan a trip during any season.

As you plan for your Napa Valley getaway, here are the things we recommend bringing along.

Layers of Clothing

In Napa, the days are often hot and sunny and the nights cool and breezy. Because you’ll likely encounter a variety of temperatures, you’ll want to bring along layers to dress in. A light jacket, stylish scarf or pull-over sweater is usually all you need to layer up in the evenings.

Comfortable Walking Shoes

Most visitors do a lot of walking when they visit Napa Valley. If you stay at Napa Valley Hotel and Suites, you can walk around the downtown area for hours. Even if you decide to take the Napa Valley Wine Train, you’ll still need good walking shoes to go window shopping or stroll the vineyards.

Purse or Bag

To keep everything within reach, bring along a sturdy, roomy purse, bag or backpack. You can use this to store essentials like your wallet, sunscreen and phone, and it will also come in handy if you purchase souvenirs or bottles of wine from the wine shops. We also recommend slipping in a detergent pen in case you get a food or wine stain on your clothing.

Day and Night Attire

Even though the Napa region is fairly relaxed, you’ll still want to look nice for nights out on the town. This is the time when people go out for dinner, visit the theater or listen to a live band. A pair of dark denim jeans and a stylish top is all you need to look your best! During the day, comfortable, breathable clothing is just fine.

Sun Protection

The sun shines hot in Northern California, so be sure to bring along the proper sun protection. Some people wear sun hats to block out the sun – plus they add a nice touch to a cotton sundress or breathable top.

If you’re planning on going to fancy places like a five-star restaurant or the Napa Valley Wine Train, be sure to check in advance about a dress code. Most of these places don’t enforce a dress code but encourage cocktail attire. To book your stay at Napa Valley Hotel and Suites, contact us today. We have great rates and deals going on right now!
