Planning a trip to Napa Valley? Excited about exploring this scenic region and its many offerings? With exotic wineries and breweries, flourishing art and culture, exciting food, music and nightlife, unique adventure activities, and serene spas and wellness retreats, Napa has something for everyone.
However, if this is your first visit to Napa, or you are not quite sure where to begin, don’t miss a stop at the Napa Valley Welcome Center. Here’s why you should drop in.
- Reinforce your itinerary: Meet one of the 80 plus local volunteers, who have expert knowledge about Napa’s activities, attractions and events. From lesser-known picnic spots and hiking trails, to the best places for dining and happy hours, get insider tips on all aspects of your itinerary. You may find some of the information so exciting or inspiring that it may compel you to tweak your plans to get some extra time for enjoyment. In addition to the hands-on help from the volunteers, you could also collect complimentary maps, guides and brochures. If you are looking for assistance on a customized itinerary, the Welcome Center offers VIP Concierge Services.
- Refresh and Recharge: Take a pit stop at the sparkling clean restroom to freshen up before you head out on your Napa adventures. Parking is free, and you can also use the electric car charging stations at the 5th Street Garage, just across from the welcome center building. Thanks to their pet-friendly policy, you can go in with your furry friends, and let them enjoy a cool drink of water, as well as some friendly pats from the volunteers.
- Find Gifts and Souvenirs: Before you get busy with a jam-packed itinerary, spend a few extra minutes at the Welcome Center Mercantile. Browse a vast array of locally handcrafted artisanal items, including home décor, cook books, food, wine, jewelry, and more. Shop for inspiring gifts for yourself and your loved ones on day 1, so that you don’t have to worry about making time for it later.
- Attend the Friday Featured Vintner Tastings: If you visit Napa between October and May, take advantage of the Featured Friday Vintner Tastings. This is a weekly recurring event that takes place every Friday from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. to celebrate the Cabernet season. Sample a wide variety of Napa Valley wines, meet with the vintners, and learn more about wine making techniques from the featured winery of that day. You may also be able to score some complimentary winery tours, or wine tasting passes when you attend. All the historic and reputed wineries in the region participate in this nearly 8-month long weekly attraction.
During your Napa visit, book your accommodation at the Napa Valley Hotel and Suites, conveniently located within a 5-minute walk from the Napa Valley Welcome Center.
