Last Chance for "Napa On Ice"

Napa opened its seasonal skating rink – Napa On Ice – for the third year in a row back in November. The rink will be closing down January 12, so if you haven’t paid a visit yet, you better do so soon!

The skating rink is located in beautiful downtown Napa, at the corner of 2nd and Coombs Street. It’s a large rink, featuring 5,600 square feet of real ice. For the locals in Napa Valley who don’t normally get a sheet of ice to skate on, the ice rink is a real treat that offers hours of outdoor fun.

Some of the most popular events that Napa On Ice hosts includes:

Rock the Rink (Friday nights)
Family Night (Tuesday nights)
Skate Buddies (for beginners)
Birthday parties
Private ice time
Other special events

The ice rink is open every day, and skaters have the chance to enjoy an afternoon of skating under the sun, as well as an evening of skate time under the stars. The cost is just $12 per person, and that includes skate rental, since most Napa natives don’t own a pair of ice skates! There are also lockers available, so you can stay as long as you like and enjoy time with friends – or simply fine tune your skills.

Napa On Ice has been widely popular among kids and teens, since it gives them a chance to be outdoors with their friends while doing something outside the box. It can be hard for kids and teens to find things to do in Napa Valley, especially during the winter. Since the ice rink is located in the downtown area, parents can tag along and find something for everyone to enjoy.

This year, Napa On Ice has made a lot of improvements, such as new dasher boards, 350 pairs of new skates (for figure skating and hockey) and a Zamboni ice resurfacing machine. Between live events, birthday parties, skating lessons and Family Nights, you can’t beat a day skating under the sun – or stars. Remember, the last day for skating is January 12 from 12-9 pm.
