Safety was improved in the early 1900s when motorized bus services began.

Today, there are more than 40 of Napa’s 200 wineries along the Silverado Trail, and the major intersections include Napa, Yountville, Oakville, St. Helena and Calistoga. Many of the wineries have tasting rooms that offer tours and panoramic views of the valley. The Silverado Trail blends together the modern amenities of today’s wineries with the past cultures of Northern California.
