5 Holiday Events You Don’t Want to Miss in Napa

It’s hard to believe that the holidays are upon us! All across the country, towns and cities have annual tree lightings, parades and festivals to welcome the season. Napa Valley, as you can imagine, is no exception. There are many events held over the next six weeks that you don’t want to miss out on. Weather in Napa in December is mild, usually in the 50s and 60s. However, the nights get cold so be sure to dress appropriately.

Below are five holiday events that you don’t want to miss in Napa Valley this holiday season. 

1. Napa’s Christmas Tree Lighting

Wednesday, Nov. 27th, 6-9pm

Veterans Memorial Park

Napa’s Christmas Tree Lighting kicks off the holiday season. This annual event is free and open to the public. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, cookies and entertainment as a 20’ Christmas tree is lit up in Veterans Memorial Park. It’s a great way to start the winter season in stride! 

2. Napa’s Christmas Parade

Saturday, Nov. 30th, 5-8pm

Second and Third Streets in Downtown Napa

A few days after the tree lighting, join the Napa community for the annual Christmas Parade. This year’s theme is The Twelve Days of Christmas. Expect to see floats decked out in holiday lights, snowflakes and garland. After the parade, meet Santa at the Archer Hotel for pictures. The event is free. 

3. Holiday Trolley Rides

Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays in December, 3-6pm

Starting December 7th, you can enjoy a free ride throughout downtown Napa Valley on the weekends. The trolley is decorated for the holidays and plays Christmas tunes as it travels between four stops – the Oxbow Public Market, Napa River Inn, the Andaz Hotel and Dwight Murray Plaza. Sit back, enjoy the lights and soak up the magic of the holiday season. 

4. Santa Train at Napa Valley

Various Dates in December, at 5pm or 7pm

Napa Valley Wine Train 

For the month of December, the Napa Valley Wine Train is transformed into a whimsical holiday ride to help Jolly the Bear. Board the train, take a seat and get ready to head to the North Pole with Santa himself. Enjoy hot cocoa, freshly-baked cookies and onboard entertainment for the kids. The event runs on various dates in November and December, at either 5pm or 7pm. Dates are filling up fast! Tickets start at $49.99.

5. An Irish Christmas Concert in Napa

Saturday, December 7th, 8pm

Uptown Theatre

Take a journey to Ireland as the dancers celebrate Christmas through song and dance. An Irish Christmas Concert in Napa features an award-winning cast of Irish dancers who sing and dance their way through holiday classics like Silent Night, Carol of the Bells and The Twelve Days of Christmas. Music is played on fiddles, flutes, pipes and bodhrans for a truly unique experience. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.
